The Popky Sisters of
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania
In July, 2025, we were honored to record the Lasting Voices of Maggie Popky Blacher, Evelyn (aka Evie, aka Betsy) Popky Grinspoon and Carol Popky Hausman.
Now in their 90’s and living close to each other in the Boston area, their stories of family and life are both intertwined and beautifully individual.
The photo below — Evie on the left, Carol in the middle, and Maggie on the right — was rescued from their home after the catastrophic Wilkes-Barre flood of 1972.
Click on the arrows to hear to their Voices, now preserved for generations to come.
The Lasting Voices of the Popky Sisters — along with the precious Voices of hundreds of our other Jewish elders — are made possible by the support of our generous donors, including the family of Arthur J. Epstein.
